Walking the walk
Many people would call what we do in our manufacturing process a “green program”. We call it everyday business. From our recycling efforts to our waste management efforts to our paper offerings, we strive to make our carbon footprint as small as possible. Currently, we . . .
- Maintain our FSC certification so that we can continue to offer paper products that have been produced at mills that promote responsible stewardship of the world’s forests
- Send 1.4 million lbs. of paper trim waste directly back to the paper mills to be recycled annually
- Purchase plates that use 60% less chemistry than previous ones
- Use ink cartridges, rather than cans, to save 2500 lbs. of ink waste annually
- Use inks that are 26% vegetable oil and release less than 1% VOC’s during the printing process
- Recycle 3000 lbs. of aluminum plates per month
- Recycle all corrugated materials, wooden pallets, plastic ink cartridges, shrink wrap, stretch film, scrap metal, scrap machinery, and scrap computers
- Use a biodegradable dampening solution on press and recycling 100% of it
- Maintain all equipment and mechanical building systems for peak performance
- Place recycle bins in every office, as well as our break rooms, to collect paper, aluminum cans, and plastic bottles
- Have an in-house “green team” that continuously seek new ways to be environmentally responsible
The bottom line is that 100% of the by-products of our manufacturing process is recycled in some way, shape or form. We take our role seriously in doing our part to protect our earth’s resources. Talk to us about printing your next job on FSC certified paper to help do yours.
