Below you will find separate instructions for Mac Users and PC Users to transfer your file to our ftp site. If you are transferring more than one file, please zip all the files together using WinZip or StuffIt (or your personal preference), before transferring the files to our ftp site. It is imperative that you don't just copy a folder containing your files to our site. Otherwise, we will not automatically be notified of their arrival and may waste valuable time waiting on them. (See the links to the left if you need to acquire WinZip or StuffIt.)

Mac User Instructions

Mac Users will need to have an FTP software loaded, such as Fetch, to transfer your files. While other FTP programs may work as well, we have personally tested Fetch and have found it to be reliable. If you need to download Fetch, you can find it at http://fetchsoftworks.com.

  1. To upload a file, create a new connection in Fetch by choosing File/New Connection. Fill in the following information:
Host: ftp.belkprinting.com
User ID: (Your salesperson should provide this to you.)
Password: (Your salesperson will provide this, too.)
  1. Click OK to connect to our FTP site. Note: If a connection cannot be made, you may need to talk to your Network Administrator about your firewall settings.
  1. Click Put Files to choose the file you wish to upload.
  1. Locate the file you wish to upload and select it. Note: If you are transferring more than one file, this should be the one zipped file you created with WinZip or StuffIt. Do NOT upload a folder as we will not be notified that your files have arrived and may spend valuable setup time waiting for them.
  2. Click Choose.

  1. Verify the name of the file and make sure that the Format is set to Automatic.
  2. Click OK and you should begin to see your file transferring to our FTP site.

PC User Instructions

PC Users can use an internet browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape to upload their files. They can also use ftp software if that is available. To use a browser, follow the instructions below:

  1. In your browser address bar, type ftp://username:password@ftp.belkprinting.com where "username" and "password" are the respective username and password provided to you by your salesperson then press Enter.

Example: If my assigned username is "belk" and my password is "sendmyfile", I would type "ftp://belk:sendmyfile@ftp.belkprinting.com" (without the quotes) to login.

  2. From here, you can just drag the file you want to upload from your computer and drop it into the Internet Explorer window you have open. Technically, you can drag more than one file at a time, but we ask that you zip multiple files into one big file. By all means, don't just copy a folder containing all of your files. As mentioned above, by doing this, we won't get notification on our end that your files have arrived and may end up losing valuable setup time.
  3. Once the file has transferred, you should see it in the Internet Explorer window.
